Types of Industrial Nuts
Finished Hex Nuts
Our finished hex nuts are commonly used with thread bolts and screws that don’t require a locking mechanism. Popular applications for standard hex nuts are construction and manufacturing.
Flange Hex Nuts
Flange nuts include a circular flange on the bottom of their hex section that extends the diameter of the hex nut. The flange nut increases the nut’s bearing surface for use with oversized holes.
Slotted Nuts
Slotted nuts rely on slots protruding from the top of the nut and a cotter pin which eliminates the need for a lock washer or other locking-type fasteners. Slotted nuts can often be used as a substitute for castle nuts.
Stover Lock Nuts
Stover lock nuts are similar to standard torque hex nuts but are designed with a conical top and flat bottom. Stover lock nuts provided increased rotational resistance and are popular as an all steel lock nut option.
Nylock Nuts & More
Nylock lock nuts utilize a nylon insert to secure the nut in place. These nuts are ideal for protecting the connection formed between the bolt and the nut against vibration.
Jam Nuts
Jam nuts have a thinner profile than standard hex nuts and are commonly used alongside another nut to help prevent loosening. Their compact design also makes them useful for applications with limited space.
Heavy Hex Nuts & Structural Nuts
Heavy hex nuts and structural nuts feature a larger, thicker design than standard hex nuts, making them suitable for heavy-duty fastening applications. They are commonly used in structural steel connections, construction equipment, and other applications requiring high-strength fasteners.
Pin Lock Nuts
Pin lock nuts use an integrated metal locking pin that engages with bolt threads to help prevent loosening caused by vibration. These nuts are commonly used in heavy machinery, construction equipment, and other high-vibration applications.
Acorn Nuts
Acorn nuts feature a rounded, closed-end cap that covers exposed bolt threads, providing protection and a finished appearance. They are commonly used in applications where exposed threads need to be covered for safety or appearance.
Coupling Nuts
Coupling nuts are elongated, internally threaded nuts designed to connect two threaded rods, studs, or bolts. They are commonly used in construction and industrial applications where threaded connections need to be extended.
Industrial Nut Materials & Coatings
Hex nuts vary in width and thickness based on their corresponding fastener specifications. We offer nuts in various styles and grades from stainless steel to corrosion-resistant nylon. Our hex nuts range in materials including Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Brass, Bronze, Aluminum and Nylon. Specific coatings can be applied to our hex nuts including color-specific coatings for organizational purposes. Our material coating options include Black Oxide, Zinc, Stainless Steel and additional coatings. Why Choose DW Fastener for Industrial Nuts?
