Hex Nut Styles
Finished Hex Nuts
Our finished hex nuts are commonly used with thread bolts and screws that don’t require a locking mechanism. Popular applications for standard hex nuts are construction and manufacturing.
Flange Hex Nuts
Flange nuts include a circular flange on the bottom of their hex section that extends the diameter of the hex nut. The flange nut increases the nut’s bearing surface for use with oversized holes.
Slotted Hex Nuts
Slotted hex nuts rely on slots protruding from the top of the nut and a cotter pin which eliminates the need for a lock washer or other locking-type fasteners. Slotted nuts can often be used as a substitute for castle nuts.
Stover Lock Nuts
Stover lock nuts are similar to standard torque hex nuts but are designed with a conical top and flat bottom. Stover lock nuts provided increased rotational resistance and are popular as an all steel lock nut option.
