Grinding Wheels
A grinding wheel is a thick disc abrasive used for cutting, blending, and grinding various surfaces. Grinding wheels contain abrasive grains that are bonded together to provide precise material removal, durability, and efficiency. DW Fastener is proud to carry an array of high-quality grinding wheels from Bullard Abrasives, proudly made in the USA and engineered for durability, performance, and safety. If you’re unsure or can’t find what you’re looking for, our sales team is ready to help at sales@dwfastener.com, or 330-848-2891 option 2.
Depending on the job you are working on, there are many different classifications and combinations of grinding wheels to choose from to ensure the best longevity and performance. Ferrous metals (steel, iron, welds, etc.) work best with grinding wheels designed to withstand higher heat and provide durable, consistent material removal.
Type 27
Designed with a depressed center, Type 27 wheels are ideal for grinding flat surfaces and edge work. They are commonly used for surface grinding, weld blending, and general metal fabrication.
Type 28
Featuring a slight outward angle Type 28, “Saucer depressed”, or “Hat-shaped” wheels provide better access to corners and contours. They are well-suited for aggressive stock removal and working on curved or irregular surfaces.
Type 29M
Type 29M wheels, such as the RapidGRIND™ line, are engineered for high-performance material removal. Unlike regular grinding wheels, these wheels are lighter, faster, and more comfortable to use. Bullard Abrasives’ Type 29M offers rapid material removal and cool grinding for improved productivity. For futher questions on grinding wheels, contact us or call 330.848.2891
